Our Approach
We are inspired by those taking a stand for more conscious practices in business, and for the care and protection of the environment.
We are taking steps to effectively play our part in this crucial global effort. We understand the responsibility of running a business based on good ethics, and we commit to transparency in our practises.
We are continually educating ourselves to learn about different ways we can make improvements to our sustainability, through the way we design and manufacture, to the ways we operate in our stores.
Our Ethics
An ethical basis provides the strong core of our tight knit business.
Integrity, fairness and support are key values nurtured in our team of 18. Between us we have grown 16 babies, and our workplace has needed to be flexible to accommodate family time.
Having an ethical basis has meant that from the beginning, we have chosen to partner with businesses who share our values. Using top quality and recycled materials, managing fairness in the working areas and careful waste management.
We are making headway with our aim to produce jewellery for life.
Gold
We use gold from two suppliers:
Our engagement and wedding collections, and our bespoke pieces are made locally. The gold we use is high quality, refined and 97% recycled.
A small number of our fine pieces are produced with gold which is 50% recycled, sourced from ethically run mines with regulated extraction methods and labour practices.
They do not use mercury amalgamation extraction methods.
Platinum
Platinum is a precious metal and one of the rarest elements found on Earth, it derives its name from the Spanish word 'Platina,' meaning 'little silver’.
Because of its scarcity, Platinum has become highly valuable. This durable and enduring metal is resistant to tarnish, making it an ideal choice for jewellery.
At Zoë & Morgan, we craft platinum pieces using high-content platinum of at least 95% purity. Its hypoallergenic properties make it a safe and comfortable metal for daily wear, ensuring you can cherish your platinum jewellery for a lifetime.
Single Mine Origin Gold
Seeking a sustainable response to a growing demand for responsibly sourced gold, the sibling duo of Charlie and Dan Betts began working on a solution and established what is now known as Single Mine Origin Gold in 2017.
SMO produces gold that is fully traceable, dating back to the mine from which it originated. This refined process tells the essential tale of the positive environmental and social impacts of the gold that is being produced, extending beyond individual member mines.
We’re pleased to stand alongside SMO for this impactful journey, who provide us with the gold we craft our fine collections in - recognising that transparency acts as a catalyst for continuous improvement across the entire sector.
Gemstones
For our contemporary collections, we source gem stones from different suppliers, all of which are small producers.
Morgan often sources raw material whilst travelling and we cut the stones in our own unique shapes.
Our aim is to set up the business to use 100% ethically sourced gem stones, and we’re working towards this.
Diamonds
For our bespoke and wedding engagement pieces. We like to educate our customers to make their own choice based on their values.
We offer natural GIA certified diamonds, that can be traced to source via the Kimberley Chain process.
We can use above ground lab grown or reused diamonds on request.
22k Gold Vermeil
We offer 22k Gold Vermeil in our contemporary range, these are pieces crafted in 925 sterling silver and then plated with 3 microns of 22 carat gold. The plating is done in-house and locally, allowing us to offer a re-plating service for your Zoë & Morgan jewellery if needed.
925 Sterling Silver
We use sterling silver from two suppliers: Our contemporary collections are crafted from beautiful high quality 100% recycled silver. Our supplier Umicore Precious Metals are LBMA registered, this means they meet the standards set by LBMA.
These standards govern the purity, form and origin of the bars as well as the ways they have been traded.
A small number of our contemporary pieces are produced with silver that is 50% recycled, sourced from ethically run mines with regulated extraction methods and labour practices. They do not use mercury amalgamation extraction methods.
Zoë & Morgan
Circularity System
Do you have Zoë & Morgan jewellery that’s not quite your style anymore, or perhaps you want something new but don't have space?
All of our jewellery is handcrafted using recycled 925 sterling silver, solid gold and platinum. The beauty of this means we're able to melt down and recycle any of our jewellery such as broken chains or findings with zero waste to create new pieces, creating a closed loop process.
To encourage our community to recycle their older jewellery and continue the material journey, we’ve introduced our Circularity System.
We invite you to bring in any Zoë & Morgan pieces you no longer wear, in return for a £25 gift voucher for each piece.
We will melt down your old jewellery, leaving nothing to waste. You have credit towards a new piece to treasure, and we are able to reuse the melted materials to create something new.
There is no minimum amount of jewellery you need to provide.
It's a simple 3 step process:
Step 1
Bring your Zoë & Morgan jewellery into our store and talk to one of our lovely team members.
If you are based outside of London, please send the jewellery to the address below:
Zoë & Morgan
Attn: Circularity System
8A All Saints Road,
Notting Hill,
London, W11 1HH
Please download and complete the form and send this with your jewellery, we will be in touch when your voucher is ready to use.
Step 2
We melt down and reuse the metals, continuing the journey and crafting new pieces from the refined alloy (recycled materials).
Step 3
A £25 gift voucher for each piece of jewellery will be emailed to you, for you to put towards your next Zoë & Morgan purchase.
It’s as simple as that!
Our Practices
We are inspired by those taking a stand for more conscious practices in business, and for the care and protection of the environment.
We are taking steps to effectively play our part in this crucial global effort. We understand the responsibility of running a business based on good ethics, and we commit to transparency in our practises.
We are continually educating ourselves to learn about different ways we can make improvements to our sustainability, through the way we design and manufacture, to the ways we operate in our stores.
We acknowledge the many issues involved in sourcing the supply of materials to make truly ethical jewellery.
We continually research, learn and progress towards our goal of working solely with ethically sourced materials.
Our packaging & delivery
Packaging is important to us, specifically looking at the development of our jewellery boxes with design, luxury and the environment in mind. Our jewellery boxes and bags are made from recycled materials.
For our look books and post-cards, we use Tinteretto Gesso, which is an fsc-mixed certified stock, meaning it’s a mix of recycled and sustainably sourced paper fibres, and is also chlorine free. We also print using vegetable ink.
The tissue paper we use to wrap gifts and line our gift bags is an eco, natural non-dyed paper. We secure our gifts without the use of cellotape, instead using a cotton ribbon. The eco bags we ship our jewellery in are compostable, made from plants.
Recycling
We try to recycle all plastic and paper in-store, and reuse wherever we can.
Douglas, our dad, was a jewellery maker and throughout his career he had an awareness of sustainable practices. He adapted and repurposed customer’s old pieces into new ones, as well as repairing existing pieces.
We maintain this Bespoke Service, enabling our customers to be reminded of their heritage by recycling pieces they might have inherited or owned for a long time but no longer wear. The metal can be melted and a new piece designed using the existing gemstones.

Our daily practices
As we work on big changes and solutions in the background, we find having some simple daily practices a positive step in the right direction.
We drink coffee from our own cups in the morning, we recycle and re-use materials as a natural part of our shop operations, and we take time out during the day to share healthy meals.
Our goals
We aim to produce jewellery for life; made to last and be inherited. We want our jewellery to be passed down through future generations, to be collected pieces that celebrate significant events.
We aim to create jewellery which involves no waste or exploitation in its production, which can then be repurposed, repaired and recycled.
