Smoky Quartz

Smoky Quartz is available in a spectrum of smoky tones, from brown to black, all with its signature soft feel. This colour comes from natural irradiation deep within the earth, interacting with the aluminium impurities in Clear Quartz, a process taking millions of years. On the MOHS scale, which measures mineral hardness, Quartz scores a 7 out of 10. This makes Smoky Quartz durable (though not indestructible) and is great for daily wear. 

Smoky Quartz, with its misty tones, is associated with both the root (Muladhara) and third eye (Anja) chakras. Muladhara is located at the base of the spine, it’s where we have all of our memories stored and is our source for feeling grounded within ourselves. This chakra allows us to tap into our strength and security, providing a solid foundation for life. Ajna is located in the centre of the forehead, slightly above the junction of the eyebrows. This chakra guides our intuition and gives us our ability to obtain wisdom that cannot be received through the physical senses. Smoky Quartz, as a grounding stone, can be worn when working with these chakras.

Using mild soap and warm water, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush, rinse thoroughly, and pat dry. Make sure to avoid exposing them to harsh chemicals or high temperatures and take them off during swimming or exercising, as this can damage the gemstone.
